Residential Care Administrators Certification Program
POLICIES and PROCEDURES
50 hours of Facilities Management credits must be accumulated within a two year
time period. Basic Administrators Course-I (6 hrs), Basic Administrators Course
II (6 hrs), and approved M.A.T. (15 hrs) are required for certification and the
remaining 23 hours can be in any of the elective courses offered.
Cost of classes will be $20.00 per credit hour. You must be registered for a
class 24-hrs in advance. Due to limited class sizes, anyone who does not
register for a class is subject to a $50.00 late fee and class non-availability.
Class registrations will not be guaranteed until full payment is received. In
order to qualify for the early bird discount, payment (check, cash, purchase
order or credit card) must be received at the Seretean Wellness Center seven
calendar days prior to the class. OSU reserves the right to cancel classes that
do not have sufficient enrollment by the early bird deadline. Any fees collected
for a class cancelled by OSU will be held for credit towards another class.
If notified in advance of a cancellation, any course already paid for will be
held on a credit basis and can be exchanged for another class (within a 1 year
period). All refunds of money on account must be requested in writing and will
be subject to a $20.00 processing fee. Once a class is over and there has been
no notification of cancellation, any money paid will be forfeited.
Seretean Wellness Center will provide renewal training for Department of
Mental Health contract holders at no charge. One Administrator for each home is
eligible and he/she must meet all eligibility criteria set forth in this
document and he/she is subject to all class policies, procedures, and
restrictions outlined herein.
Students shall attend every hour for which they receive training. Accurate
records of attendance will be kept for classes. Students must sign the
attendance roster, indicating they attended the class. If more than 30 minutes
is missed for any one class, you will not be allowed to attend the class and
your money will be forfeited.
Students who receive credit from East Central University's Continuing
Education Course on Facility Management or University of Central Oklahoma at the
Downtown College Consortium's Residential Care Facilities Program may transfer
that credit to the program up to the maximum hours allowable. A $20.00
processing fee per transfer will be charged to students wishing to transfer
their credit from ECU or UCO-DCC. Students may also transfer their M.A.T. from
an Oklahoma Vo-Tech school for a $20.00 processing fee. Proper verification is
required for all transfers.
Students can receive Competency Based Equivalency (C.B.E.) hours for any
education, certifications, professional licenses or training that is equivalent
to Residential Care or Assisted Living. Each application will be reviewed by the
curriculum committee and will be considered on an individual basis. All C.B.E.
hours must be submitted on the official C.B.E. application form with a $20.00
processing fee. A maximum of 6 hours can be given for an initial certificate and
3 hours maximum for a renewal certificate.
Class Cancellation Policy: In the case of inclement weather, the Licensed
Facilities Administrators Certification Program will cancel only if the schools
are closed at the location of the classes. (OSU-Tulsa for the classes at the
OSU-Tulsa Campus and Oklahoma State University for classes at the Seretean
Wellness Center in Stillwater.)
Please allow ample time for traveling in inclement weather.
